Short personal biography (100 words or less): Born & raised in the Midwest, Mark graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in computer science and then served 10 years in the U.S. Navy as an officer aboard nuclear-powered attack submarines. After working as a software engineer and manager in New England, he moved to Austin for roles in business development at several successful software startups. A 19-year resident of the Austin area, Mark now serves individuals and families as a financial advisor at a global wealth management firm. He and his wife, Laura, were joyfully united in marriage at Emmaus in December 2014.

Motivating factors for seeking this position: Serving the community as a consensus-building communicator in a liaison role appeals to my natural gifts and interests. I do love serving my community, and this seems like a good fit for my skill set. As I regularly attend Mass at both Emmaus and Queen of Angels, I am engaged in and comfortable with my fellow parishioners.
